SBS 2003, Profile Path and User Template not working

By petelopez ·
I have a fresh install of SBS 2003 with SP1. I have edited the User Template so that it includes the profile path \\server\profiles$\%username%. The problem is that when I use the wizard to add a new user, the profile path is left blank. Anyone know what gives?

did you use the wizard to modify the template?

Server management console,user templates,add a template

The settings including where profiles are stored should change if you use the template for all new users. old users will not get the changes.

Thanks for the reply.

I didn't create a new template using any wizards. I simply edited the existing user template that comes with SBS. This is a new install so I didn't have any users yet.

I created a new template using the wizard from the "Server Management" console. I then created a new user (again using the wizard) based on this template and the profile field on that new user was still blank.

Are you using SBS 2003 with SP1? Is this some kind of bug? Is it possible there is a fix or patch for this?
