scanemal.dll error

have p4 with xpsp2 as os. use microsoft outlook as my email client connected to exchange server 5.5. have mcafee antivirus v4.5.1 sp1.
as i open msoutlook i get error "scanemal.dll" and im not able to check mails or do anything. but at the same time word,excel is working fine.

when i uninstall antivirus or xpsp2 its working fine. also its also works fine with when i uninstall antivirus.
what may be the resolution. help pls.

Exit Outlook. Find and delete the file EXTEND.DAT. Reopen Outlook; the problem should have gone away.

Another solution is:

1. In Outlook, on the Tools menu, click Options.
2. Click the Other tab, click Advanced Options, and then click Add-In Manager.
3. Click to clear the Exchange Scan check box, click OK, and then click OK.
4. Click OK.

There is also a hot fix available from McAfee to resolve this issue.

Hey Buddy, I'm having the same problem after upgrading McAffee. This is a quick fix to stop the msg from popping up. But this also means that the emails are not scanned.
