I have a scanner mustek 1200 which mustek says is compatabile with window xp, but I am unable to get it hooked up with their instructions. They say to go with the continue anyway when it says the scanner is not digitaly signed. Do I throw it in the trash and get another new one or is there hope yet??

First, there are several different scanners in the 1200 series.
Only the 1200CP has a Windows Xp driver for download at Musteks web site.

The digitally signed warning simply means that Mustek did not submit the drivers to Microsoft to have them certified.

This is a warning from Microsoft playing big brother for device drivers.
As long as you are sure that you have the correct drivers, there should be no problem.

If you have one of the other model 1200 scanners, then your best option is to try the Windows 2000 drivers for them.

I love my Mustek 1200LP scanner, and have no plans to replace it anytime soon.

Worst case, you could set up your PC to dual-boot Windows 98 or 2000, and use the scanner with the older operating system.

Nothing worked. The scanner was not compatible so I throwed it in the junk pile
