I have a Desktop running WIN 98SE.. Every time it boots it runs scanreg and tells me the registry has been repaired. The when Windows loads A warning window opens stating the there was an error reading the system files and/or registry.. I have triednumerous backup registries, reformated and reinstalled windows and the loop is still there. Scanned for virus and founds none. If I do not answer the warning by pressing “OK” the windows runs but there seem to be other problems with updating. The registry seems looked. And of course that warning stays on top os everything. Pressing “OK” causes the system to restart and the loop starts again. ScanReg in DOS mode tells me the registry is OK. But, when I look for the backup file in sysbackup folder the only cab is rgbad.. Really has me scratching my head. Anyone have any suggestions?
