SCO Server 5.0

By gkile ·
I have a friend who has a SCO Open Server 5.0 Unix box and I cannot find the GUI interface that it is supposed to have other than the Sysadmin. Does it have the GUI look like Unixware 7.0???? And how do we get to it????

Try scologin. For info run 'man scologin'. SCO's freeware download area, Skunkware (/www.sco.com/skunkware/), includes various window managers that run on X, including KDE, but I haven't tried them myself.

If the gui part was installed it should boot up on tty2 automatically. This can be turned on by issuing the command scologin start or turned off by using scologin stop.

The window reminds me of a cross between windows 3.1 and 95 and is mosue driven. Nothing spectacular but functional.
