SCO UNIX changing IP Address

By nhennecke ·
I have been told that messing up the IP information can fry the network card, so I'll ask bluntly. How do I change the IP Adress for my SCO Unix Server?

SCO UNIX changing IP Address

Changing the IP address is done the the software and not the Network card.

I have never heard of anyone frying a NIC because they changed an IP address.

DHCP servers change IP address for computers millions of times a day.

To change the IP address of the SCO you use the netconfig program.

Go into the NIC Card TCP/IP settings and change the Protocol settings.

There you can change the IP address.

The change will not take place until you reboot the Unix Box.
