I am troubleshooting a bastard server on our network. It is the only remaining linux (redhat 6.0) production server, and no one on staff has significant linux experience. The error is as follows;
scsi bus is being reset for host 0 channel 0
scsi0 channel 0 : resetting for second half of retries
This error has apparently been ignored for quite some time until the server recently stopped responding, requiring a hard reboot. Upon reboot I had to enter ‘maintenance mode’ and run a manual fsck. The server is up and responding, but these two lines continually repeat.
What does this indicate? Is there a good primer/reference I can use for scsi and raid management on linux?
