Search exchange 2000 for attachments?

Does anyone know how to search exchange 2000 information store, all mailboxes, for specific attachments or even specific file types? I need to do this at the server level not at the gateway. I need to search the contents that are already in the mailboxes. I thought I was able to do this in the past but maybe that was when I was blocking specific file types with groupshield.
Any ideas?
