Search Outlook for all emails from any sender with .edu in email addres?

By WxAxGxS ·
I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure this out. As far as I can tell, Microsoft had the ridiculous idea that it would be smart to remove any notion of an "email address" field and replaced it with the utterly useless "From" field.

What I'm trying to do is find all emails in my inbox that are from a sender with ".edu" in their email address, but not "rit.edu" Is there a simple search function or Search Folder that I can set up to do this? For the record, none of these emails are in my contacts list (I don't use it).

Thanks!

You didn't say which version of Outlook you're using. In Outlook 2003, use the Find, Options, Advanced Find, Advanced Tab, Fields, All Mail Fields, select Email Accounts, set field to "contains" and type in *.edu (note the wildcard).

Note, you can not exclude "rit.edu". You can only search for all .edu domains with the wildcard in front of it. This isn't a database like Acess where you can define searches that particular.

Yes I'm using Outlook 2003. Using that wildcard returns zero e-mails. In fact, typing anything in using the "Email Accounts" option returns nothing. It was my understanding that "Email Accounts" either (a) referring to which of *my* accounts to look for or (b) Only looked at addresses in my contacts list (none of which contain email addresses but Exchange addresses, as I don't use the Contacts list. If I can't do some sort of boolean, however, I guess my efforts are useless anyway... Thanks though!
