I am not sure where to turn with this problem
I am running a RedHat 7.1 Web/Mail server
I have also configured this server to host web/mail services for a virtual domain as well.. I have RBL enabled for sendmail as well as relay control.. sendmailseems to work fine at handling its requests&denying unauthorized access. All mail is routed properly but the problem I have is with the speed of the sendmail service itself.. upon boot the sendmail service takes about 4-5 minutes to start and it alsotakes about 2-4 minutes to accept an incoming connections request.. I have went over my settings quite a few times and cant see any obvious problems with my sendmail.cf
I have combed the net for any info regarding sendmail speed and turned up nothing…
and the folks at the sendmail.org mailgroup did nothing but ignore and belittle me for not being a super sendmail master… I hope anyone can help with any suggestions on why sendmail would delay so long on starting and answering requests…Thanks In Advance
