Sending mail using sql serv er 7.0

Along the lines of notification services, i wish to know how could I send mails using sqlserver7.0 when a table is updated,etc. I know that i have to use the xp_sendmail for this. I have sqlserver7.0 and ms outlook installed. My machine is coming under a domain controller and mail server is seperate for me. how to create a mail profile in such an environ and use it.????/
