re: sending through outlook

What happens when you try to send? Do you get an error message?

How are you connected to the internet?

Are you trying to relay email through your ISP using another email account, such as gmail or yahoo, as your "sending" account?

Don't give us your username or password information, but can you provide more detail about the account you're trying to use to SEND email?

I'm pretty certain his outgoing SMTP server settings are wrong

Although his incoming POP3 setting are correct since he is able to get mail. This is a simple outlook mail profile fix as I'm sure something as simple as having to provide the proper credentials will correct the issue.

.... without knowing his setup, we can't tell him what to do. Especially when using gmail, msn, etc..., or even a different ISP account. Some ISP's won't let you relay through them. You have to set your SMTP settings to USE their SMTP server with different logon credentials than the POP3 credentials.
