server won’t load

by seadogs . Updated 24 years, 11 months ago

I have a Dimension XPS R400 which I have just loaded w2k server on (it had w2k pro). I’ve already updated the bios. It installs fine but will not boot into normal w2k mode…it gets to the loading w2k screen and freezes up right before going to the logon. I’ve waited 5 minutes to make sure it wasn’t just slow. The machine has 256 MB RAM. I can boot into safe mode. When I go into event log I see error like:
The distributed transaction coordinator service depends on the security accountsmanager service which failed to start because of the following error: No attempts to start the service have been made since the last boot;
the system event notification service deends on the com+event system service which failed to start because of the following error: no attempts to start the service have been made since the last boot.;
The iis admin service depends on the protected storage service which failed to start because of the following error: no attempts to start the service have been made since the last boot.;
the simple mail transport protocol service depends on the iis admin service service which failed to start because of the following error: the dependency service or group failed to start.
the world wide web publishing service service depends on the iis admin service service which failed to start because of the following error: the dependency service or group failed to start.
the server {blah blah blah} did not register with dcom within therequired timeout.
If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions as to what to do I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!
