set default value in a fast way (Access)

By Hunterzh ·
In Access, when creating a table, for an item, we can set a default value for it, but must in design view.

Now I have made a form from a table.

I hope to make a short cut to set default value for a certain item, for example, a pop-up bar or a button, just to set default value in an easy way.

How can I realize that, macro, or some way else?

well, my approach is to get stuff working, then see if there is a better way (smile)...what about an unbound text field on the form:Default Value. And a button next to it to Update Default Value. the user types what they want in Default Value field. OnClick the Default Value button copies value to the appropriate field for the item. or am i off in left field here?

I've read the answer from one friend. Thanks.
The point is: once you set default value for an item, then when you add new records, needn't input value again. It is real default value.

OK, by using a button I solve this point.
Can it also be realized by a pop-up bar?
