Set Defrag to Automatically start at boot up..For WIndows XP

For many members on here you might know how to do this, but for the rest this might be a very handy piece of information.

Auto defragmentation in windows XP.
Defrag is faster on start up than when done normally.
Here is how:
You will need to go into the registry to do this.
Start > run, type in "regedit".
go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\
Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
RunOnce"
Add a new string value "AutoDefrag", add the following: "Defrag.exe c:/f", (all without quotes) Now defrag should automatically run on start up.
Happy computing. :)

Value clarification

by lyon_bleu In reply to Set Defrag to Automatical ...

Are those separate values on separate lines, or are they two values separated by a space on the same line?

Thanks for the tip.

Go into the registry and you will see how it is set up.

You will see that the some are on the same line and some are split.
The value to put in (explained in my post) is on the same line.

Try this out..

First go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then SOFTWARE then Microsoft then Windows then CurrentVersion RunOnce

And input the values as in my earlier post on HOW to.
