Setting cells in Microsoft Word to be unalterable

I am creating an office form in Microsoft Word and I would like to protect the cells (such as (NAME) (COLLEGE COMPLETED) etc.) from being open to alteration. In linux, I’m finding them easy to protect. Instructions? Thanks.
