Setting Up Outlook Express

I have aol as my internet provider and I also have a hotmail account. I went through all of the steps to get outlook setup for my hotmail account but when I go to send and receive my mail it tells me that the POP3 server cannot be found. I have called AOL and gateway and neither one of them can help me.Could some here please help me???
