Setup did not find any hard disk…

by marie . Updated 18 years ago

I am aware of the SATA Raid 1 setup needing the drivers installed using F6 during an XP install via the CD and FDD.

This is not a new install as I have been running these two 160G’s and decided to replace them with 750G Seagates also. Ok, the 750 wasn’t seen so I decided to flash the bios using the latest Uber one. Still didn’t see it nor did it boot up with my exsisting 160’s. Now I’m dead in the water using the wife’s laptop. Flash went well and shows in the post, and I have no problem entering the bios and I can also see the Raid 1 configuration and enter if I want.

The darned thing just won’t boot!

Ok, so I thought I would “Repair” XP with the installation disk…comes to installing, it tries to reboot, doesn’t see the files so just starts the installation disk again.

Ok, try the “Windows recovery console” and it says “Setup did not find any hard disk…”.

Suggestions??
Thanks Dave
