Setup POP3 and Corporate Mail in Outlook

By jazz23 ·
I have a user who is starting a new venture for our company in the China region.

He has a laptop with Broadband in his place.

He would like to streamline his Outlook 2000 by combining his POP3 Account and his Corporate Account (which is an Exchange Server back in Australia)

Can this be achieved??
Will he recieve Personal email to is POP account and work email to Corporate??
Does this setup pose any security risks??

Have since found out that you can set up POP and Exchange accounts within Outlook.

For Exchange accounts you must use the CW Option
However, with this etup both sets of email will reside in the one inbox.

You can create two profiles, one for each mail account.
However, you can only run one profile at anyone time. Limitation within 2000. This has been resolved by Office 2003.

So my user is stuck, with using POP Outlook and toggle between our Citrix Secure Gateway to access Corportate email

Outlook should be able to accomodate both without fuss i would think. email is a security risk, but doesnt matter if pop3 or exchange.
what is the exact problem you are having?

wonder if there is a webmail 'connector' (possibly also pop3 'connector' on the Exchange end of things.
why not drop the Exchange admin and email inquiring about what kind of mail connections are available?

create a rule in the rule wizard where e-mail from the personal account goes to a personal inbox and e-mail from the corporate account goes to the corporate inbox. piece O cake. you can also key on recipients, senders, subject line keywords, and even keywords in the body. (a body search slows down the e-mail download)
