Sharepoint uninstalled – are my files gone or how can I gan access?.

Hi – hopefully someone can help – I uninstalled sharepoint(2010) last week in the understanding the my files were still kept in a certain folder on the server. It turns out sharepoint stores it’s folders in binary on a sql database. I uninstalled sharepoint but not sql. Is there any easy way of getting access to those files?. Thank you in advance,
