Sharing an External Static IP address

by pilgrimbrian . Updated 17 years, 8 months ago

Here is my situation,

I want to know if it is possible to share the static IP assigned from the ISP.

I have a branch office that has a timeclock that requires a dedicated external static IP address. I also have a Netscreen SSG5 Gateway Security that currently has the external IP assigned to it.

My only idea is as follows,

DSL Line to DSL Modem to DSL Router then from DSL Router branch to SSG5 and the time clock.

Will sharing the internet connection from the DSL router to 2 devices that have the same external IP address assigned to them work?

This is very urgent, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If this is not possible the only other solution is to buy another static IP from ISP which I want to avoid if possible.
