Sharing Documents

Sharing Documents on Widows 7 with an XP Laptop. I have tried the standard sharing options as well as using Homegroup. Funnily enough I can share printers and all other files but just not the "Documents" file. Documents saved under / with their own sub file names are OK.

Make sure you are in the same workgroup. If you are using a domain, talk to the network administrator to help you in sharing the folder as administrative password is required to do this.

If you are using just a workgroup based network, BOTH pc's MUST be in the same workgroup. Sharing a folder in windows 7 is simple using the share files and folder wizard (right click on the folder-properties-share-advanced share). There you MUST specify the user's (the xp one) username and A (any) password, so that the other (xp one) could access the share via username and password.
