Sharing in a LAN using yahoo messenger

By cipherSkull ·
In my network (LAN), we send and receive files like mp3s, documents, music videos and other stuff that go up to 80Mb in size through the 'send file' option provided by the yahoo messenger and it works atleast 10 times faster than the traditional network neighbourhood stuff.

When my friend asks me a for a new video...all I do is login into yahoo! messenger, select my friends id and just send him that file. That's all !

Try it out. It seems to work only for PCs belonging to a particular LAN. But I am not sure.

I call it IM & IDT(Instant Data Transfer !).

That's only if your LAN is connected to the Internet. But anyways the purpose of having a LAN is sharing resources like printer, database, etc..

I think your idea is good for a LAN of a company that can't afford a LAN administrator! Economical :)
