This problem seems to have numerous work arounds and fixes, however little attention has been paid to why this happens in the first place. I have successfully been able to replicate when the problem happens and it seems to be tied to the settings and transfer wizard in Windows Vista. Whenever a profile is transferred utilizing this process to another computer or profile, Outlook?s address book, or possibly the *.oab file is corrupted somehow. Does anybody know why this happens, because Microsoft apparently is unaware of the issue? By the way, the problem does not seem to be duplicated through the settings and transfer wizard in an Exchange environment.
