Silly Q - Read Request

By samlhc ·
When a sender send a read request, he get mutiple request reply due to the recipient got mail forward to other group which got amount of user. Is there anyway to filter the read request to the intend recipient only, but the mail must readable from other group. Which party need to do some config? Sender might be using outlook/OE. Recipient using SBS2003 + ms outlook.
Both different pop.

Here's a possible solution.

Go to the filter rules in Outlook Express. (Tools - Message Rules Mail)

Outlook usually delivers the receipt with a message that looks like Delivery report: [Message Name]

Check in the first box: Where the Subject line contains specific words

Check in the second box: Delete it from the server

In the third box, click the blue text that reads "contains specific words." Add the following words : Delivery report: Fwd

This should delete any message from the server without downloading, that has the automatic subject Delivery report: followed by the fwd.

Hope this helps.

Need to make a followup. It depends on what kind of receipt your friend is getting back. If it is a delivery receipt than what I wrote works. However, if it is a message read receipt (which I belive is what you're talking about) it obviously won't.

If he is getting a read receipt, follow the previous steps but replace " Delivery report: " with " Read: " (without the quotes of course.)
