sis620 lockup

i have a pcchips m741lmrt mb with an sis 620 chipset.a pentium 2 333 processor.64 mb memory.when i install the drivers for the video adapter my pc locks up at the windows 98 start screen.if i select standard video adapter it works but i can only get16 colors.can any one help??
