I’ve been having periods when trying to open or save a file to s pecific location where the PC takes between 30 and 45 seconds to move from one level up or down. To move to the next level it takes the same amount of time as if it doesn’t remeber where its at. It doesn’t occur in Adobe only Microsoft apps. It started a few months ago and dosn’t seem to be getting any better. I’ve done complete tests and scans without finding any problems. Periodically, it will run normally during a file save or search, then slows down on the next one.
Turning firewall and virus scan off/onn doesn’t affect it for better or worse.
I’m running XP Pro on a Dell Optiplex GX620,P4, 3.6 Ghz, w/3.5GB Ram, 160 GB Internal HD and 80 GB external USB drive. PC is about two years old.
