Slow MS Access during search query

I have 5 users working on a shared database in MS Access.. The number

of rows in the database is now 17k and very soon it will get double

from present number.

Now the problem is we are finding the database very slow when some

searchquery is given. To rectify this problem we have made the MDE

file of the database… removing the design code from the forms. but

there is only little improvement over the performance..

Plz don’t tell to compact and repair option of the database as we are

doing this daily (4-5 times).
