I am having problems with my CPU speeds on ubuntu, when I dual boot to windows my CPU speeds are stable at 4.6 ghz(amd 3800x) while when I switch to ubuntu, its as low as 2.0 ghz, any idea how to fix this?
An interesting experiment: make a small benchmark in, say, LibreOffice with a few CPU-intensive macro’s in, say, Calc in large spreadsheet. Now measure how long they take in Windows and in Ubuntu. Say it’s 1 minute in Windows. Is more than twice that in Ubuntu (after all, the CPU speed seems to be less than 50%, so one expects it takes longer).
Please tell what you find.
