On a member server (non-DC), I am going to modify NTFS perms on a disk, and I get a very sluggish response when enumerating the active directory users. I can even see user SIDs as the system is waiting a long time for a response on the lookup.
When looking up local users, the response is correct, so i know this has to be an issue on the domain level.
I am building a pilot network, and there’s only two servers, and they are physically located right next to eachother and plugged into the same switch. ping response is good, DNS setup and response looks good… this is a vanilla install and i’ve done it a million times, this just makes no sense.
i’ve also noticed logins take a long time, as well as applying GPOs. I’ve only got one GPO running, and it’s the default domain policy, and there are only a modest number of changes.
