Question

Smart home hub (Homey or Wink Hub 2)

By johanvries59 ·
Hello,

My name is Johan from the Netherlands, i saw another question about smart home and i hoped you could maybe help me as well.

Since a few years my wife and I collected a couple of smart devices in our home. For our heating we use Nest, Philips Hue lights, we have solar panels and electric blinds. Also a few smart plugs and sensors. Myself, but especially my wife isn’t too happy having to control every device in a different way. That is why I am looking for a smart home hub that could control all the devices in our home.

After some research online, I selected two hubs that might fit our situation. The Wink Hub 2 (https://www.wink.com/products/wink-hub-2/) sounds interesting, I found out that this hub is able to connect with a wide range of devices and the hub has a fair price. The only problem at this moment is that I live in the Netherlands and the hub isn’t available in my country yet. I am not sure if all popular European smart home products can be connected.

That is why am thinking about buying Homey (https://www.athom.com/en/homey/), which is a Dutch product. Is also able to connect with a wide range of devices and can even let them work together by creating own scenarios. The reviews that I read about were overall positive, but also some quite negative. But it still seems to be a good match for us.

I was wondering if you know these devices and could give me some tips or maybe have some other suggestions.

Johan.
