Software licenses

Recently been given the task of tracking down what licenses we have for our current software. Unfortunately no-one has kept a log of what has been loaded onto where in the past and many of the hardcopies have since been ‘misplaced’.

Is there anyprogram that is able to ‘sniff’ out what has been loaded onto a PC or Server. In light of Microsofts 31st July deadline, beginning to panic ever so slightly.
