Question

Locked

software setup

By frgvnsldr ·
When I try to install any softwre using a cd windows only opens the autorun dialogue box. That only allows me to "explore the contents of the cd. Then I have to look for the .exe file or setup file on the cd. I am running windows 7 home premium 64 bit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you looked at the following?

I have gone to the control panel and set the default to "install or run program from your media" and looked at the thread you posted to no avail. Couldn't find "NoDriveTypeAutoRun" in the registry so I couldn't try that, Don't know if it's in a different location or non- existent. I am at a total loss, so any other ideas would be very helpful. Thanks for any trouble

You looked in the gpedit.msc?

Make sure you looked for "NoDriveTypeAutoRun" in HKEY_CURRENT_USER, if it doesn't exist in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

Also, did you look at this
