      Testing or QA

Do you want to know how to fairly compensate a software tester? Perhaps you are more interested in learning how much you can reasonably expect to get paid for your own testing job, or for the one you have your sights on. Whatever your motivation is but more over I suggest QA QA is more a preventive thing, ensuring quality in the company and therefore the product rather than just testing the product for software bugs?
QA and test people are second-class citizens. They are paid less than their counterparts in development. In part this is due to the fact that QA and test people tend to be less senior and less experienced, therefore deserving of less pay. I have no problem with that. However developers and testers with equivalent skill, education, and experience are not paid the same
