Solution that will help me to monitor my website

My website has gone down a couple of times within the past year and I haven't noticed it offline until I actually either navigated to the site myself, or I was informed by somebody else that it had gone offline.

So I am now looking for a solution whereby I will get a notification if my website goes offline. Can someone recommend a software that I can use which will notify me via email / SMS if my website goes offline.

If you’re looking to implement a solution you can check out the following ones and choose the best for you:

- CopperEgg
- Panopta
- NodePing
- Apica
- Neustar

I've worked only with one of monitoring tools, called uptrends, but it works for other goals, allowing to see your website from different countries, receive a DNS report, and so on.
