I made a mistake and bought an off the shelf Sony Vaio VGCRB52. It was too good a deal, or so I thought. The ram is set to run at 233 instead of the 533MHZ. The mobo is built by Intel to handle 4gb but Sony locked it off at a 2GB capacity.
Now the final straw, Sony locked teh bios so I cant even overclock the 2.80 Pentium D820.
Sony says any questions I ask cannot be answered because they are proprietary. CROCK. They just want me to buy another pc that much sooner. Is there any way to unlock the bios so I can remove the ram block at 2gb and overclock the CPU?
I have read enough posts here that I wont ask for a password and be attacked lol – i just want to know if the 2 things I should be able to do can be done without buying a new mobo and ripping this pc apart. Thanks a lot.
