Sound problems

I have a ESS SOLO-1 PCI Audio Drive
Provider ESS Technology Inc.
File Version 4.05.001087

I have no sound, my brother wiped out my computer now I have no sound at all, I have the sound card but no software.

You can download reference drivers from www.esstech.com
Note: if the sound chip is built into the motherboard, I recommend using only the drivers from the motherboard mfg.

To identify who made your motherboard, go to either www.motherboards.orgor www.wimsbios.com

If you had to re-install Windows, you also need to install drivers for the motherboard, video card, and any other devices.
Install the mother board drivers before installing any other drivers.

G'day

To assist with motherboard ID, a small util I use is wcpuid.exe availaible from many sites eg.
www.videocarddrivers.com/wcpuid.htm

From the View menu select system info.
