SPAM List

By cmptrwhz ·
Hi All--

Since the FTC shot down the possibility of a "regulated" anti-spam list this week, I was wondering if anyone could provide a site or listing of the common subjects/keywords or common email addresses that spammers are using so that they can be blocked effectively.

I am already using RBLs, etc...

Thanks for the assistance.

Mike

This not an answer to your question, but I was going to ask for the same referrals. I've been
searching for one the last couple of days. There
are companies that will filter out your mail for
you ie; mail-abuse.com, messagelabs.com... but not sure on the cost for this service.

I will be contacting these vendors tomorrow as I
also think that my legacy Netscape Messaging Server 4.15 have been hijacked despite of the
anti-relay and mail filtering in place.

It seems the spammers have out-smarted this server.

I will be posting for help on this mail server that I have.

In the meantime, I'm looking for alternatives to help fight these spammers. I let you know the cost of the services I mentioned.

Good Luck
Trc

I just installed a new anti-spam software package on my SMTP server called ORL. It's made by vamsoft(www.vamsoft.com) and is ~$100 per server, regardless of clients. It's already cut down 92% of the traffic that was previously going to my Exchnage server. This package is very easy to configure and use. I have yet to see a single false positive. I highly recommend.

The only downside I see is that it is designed by a hungry based company, so tech support could be in issue. The package is so tight I'm not too worried about it.
