    Spam software

    Locked

    by friendsote ·

We are a charity currently with 50 networked users (Win 2003 Server/W2K/XPP clients/Outlook 2000/ Exchange 2003) – we are experiencing a surge in spam received and wondered if anyone has recommendations on which spam software to use – would via server be better or client? There are so many out there! Thank you.

Spambayes is awsome and the right price for you. $FREE. it is a bayesian filter that adapts, or learns as it goes. Initially your users may experience false positives and missed spam, but you just select the message and click either “recover from spam” or “delete as spam” to “teach” the filter what you consider to be spam. It is a plugin for outlook and is easy to install.

Another option would be something like Spamfighter which works off a database constantly updated by users. It says it will block over 90% of spam as soon as its installed with no setup, on top of that you can choose to block additional email. You can use it free, but with the free version there will be ads in the toolbar.
