specfic directory security access when logon is known to others

By Mike@POWER ·
I have a pc in a peer to peer network that, due to access needs, others know the logon password. however the operator needs one specific directory (and it's subs) to be accessed by her only (without the constant protection of each file). is there a way other than making two logons? these people have a hard time learning different procedures. AND need access to the user's email (Outlook 2003)

Have her change her password. In a good security practicing environment, people dont share login information.

Tried - They won't do

by Mike@POWER In reply to Password

I've tried - they won't do it. When someone is out of the office they may call another to see if something is on thier pc or the other person needs access to a file on the pc (I've tried to setup a "data server" but same - or more problems). The person I'm doing this for is a mgr. that needs personnel files protected. But thanks for the response!

Another option Better security

Give each user their own profile (user account). Then create a shared directory with permissions set for each user.
That way individual files will be protected and shared files will be shared.
