Spoof emails

By Eminent87 ·
Hi,

Does anybody know of a good 3rd party software where I can use to prevent spoof email and drop connection to all non-existence recipient? Our exchange 2000 server receives about 1000 or more a day of ndr to ex employee or to recipient that doesn't exist. This is not really a big issue but it does put a strain on our bandwidth.

We currently have exchange 2k server with windows 2k server. We also have trendmicro scanmail and emanager for exchange. Any help of suggestions would be appreciated. Thannks!

You can achieve a lot with filtering in Exchange2000 but i prefer to use MailMonitor from Sophos which scans incoming e-mails at the gateway rather than when it reaches the Exchange server itself.

Or

For POP3 Accounts - look at Spam assasin

We use Surfcontrol's email filter for our Exchange 2k/Windows 2k server. It works wonders. After configuring the filter rules to suit my network I can see about half the emails we receive get filtered out. In the past 16 days of uptime for our e-mail server it has filtered out 12,766 e-mails out of a total of 25,171. This includes spam, viruses, dead messages, incorrectly formatted emails, and many other kinds of "bad" emails.
