i am setting up a w2k-pc-pentium 4. unfortutantely i did not install all antyspy-programs from the beginning. firewall/antivirus was setup from the start. now i have a problem concerning internet explorer 6.o(i have netscape navigator 7.o too)
i installed google-taskbar(the google-window). when i start i am not directed to http://www.bluemail.ch but eighter passed through this:
    http://sbjr.com/passthrough/index.html?http://www.bluemail.ch/index_d.html

sometimes i will find myself at the bluemail-adress and i can see the sbjr-taskbar below.
sometimes i cannot enter the internet. what can i do? all following programs did not help. spybot and webwasher were isntalled befor the incident. these ones were installed after: regclean, regcleaner, spyblocker, cookiecooker

no spys and trojans are reported.

i could solve the problem by 1.replacing the wrong adress in registry-start page 2. updating google taskbar(this was made, but the enemy was still there.
        3. deactivating startups(with msconfig(xp))-this did not help.
        4. deactivating services and activating one after the other. this did help, but i guess this action was not responsible. i was told there is a better access with an other tool than msconfig.

      important notice:
      securitycheck made(after nsworks told)
cmd in command-line plus ipconfig reported this dramatical information:
      ehternetadapter LAN
      connection specific dns-suffix
      sbjr.com pert 80

here we have it again! the webportal disturbing internet explorer mentioned before. how can i get rid of it? registry does not find sbjr.

This looks like you have simply (or a web site has) set your hompage. Try resetting, and also look at LAN settings in your internet options, configuration scripts.
Remove Google bar and see if the problem remains.

Check your internet connection settings for correct DNS server address. Control Panel/Network Conn./”Select one”/Properties/TCP-IP/
You may have to dig down to DNS properties.

adaware did not help. i have used msconfig(xp)-thanks to bipolarbill from sysopt-forum. i disabled service(disabling startup-entries did not solve the problem). i exchanged instead of only deleting(did not work) the wrong startpage-link. then i enabled service by testing one after the other. because there are too much, i started with one after the other then in packages of 3 and more. all the time i started internet explorer to see if my startpage was ok. sometimes i could not even enter, sometimes i could enter but passing through.(see the mentioned link). the main tactic was having patience since shutting down and restarting was slow but it worked. sometimes i had to use the start-button when shut-down or start-up was blocked.
beside this procedure i tested security with comparing browser-settings with two other pcs. i used the test withing norton system works/firewall. details to be published when a second problem is solved: this security check from symantec-site is opened with netscape navigator. my other pcs open with internet explorer. how can i open with internet explorer in the future. why change this? netscape does not have active-x and scripting causing a scan error.

      @dusty

i have found a strange activation in the lan-settings but cannot find it anymore(although i have solved it, i want to recheck and mention this here). i dont understand: i have simply set my homepage… resetting what? startpage is mailbox called bluemail.ch

btw: i have found sbjr.com in the registry
