SSD not integrated, need help

I have my old laptop, Dell Inspiron 5570, the one with an i5-8thgen processor. It was running slow for quite a while now so I did a reformat on the device and it improved the overall speed of the device. Inevitably, its performance got slow bit by bit so I decided to buy a 500gb Samsung 980 m.2 nvme ssd, hoping it would help with the performance. The problem is that the doesn’t seem to be compatible as it kept on showing as the device has not migrated. I already tried upgrading all my drivers. I also installed Samsung magician software but it also doesn’t recognize the drive. I am trying to install a Win10 OS on the ssd but it also doesn’t show, I figured it has something to do with the device not being integrated. I don’t want to give up yet on the ssd, maybe someone can help on what I should do to have it fully installed in the laptop? Thanks.

Can you explain what you mean with “migrated” and “integrated”.

The BIOS might need an upgrade, there could be BIOS settings to change and then drivers. I’d post this one in a Dell forum or maybe Reddit. Thanks for the machine and SSD details. They were good enough but there’s more to getting such drives working in some Dells.

There are models

That require Intel RAID or such drivers before you can work the drive in Windows. The BIOS will show the drive but you can’t install or format the drive in Windows. It’s a known thing about some models but I can’t keep track of which models did that. Hence we google or use the Dell forum.

Have you checked to see if the SSD is present in the BIOS? If it isn’t it might be worth temporarily removing the HDD to see if it appears.
PS. According to the Inspiron 5570 manual your Samsung 980 SSD should (on-paper) be compatible.

It is showing in BIOS but not in disk management. I don’t know if this is connected but I can use the ssd to create a storage pool even if I don’t see it in disk management. I have tried virtually disabling the HDD just for no reason but it didn’t help.
