It was indeed a shame when Star Trek: The Experience left the LV Hilton, especially since Disney could have taken a lesson in the way they conducted their show AND the people who were in it. You never go the sense that this was the umpteenth time they were saying those same lines that day, even though of course it was.
At any rate, there’s been on again/off again activity starting with signing a contract back before the Trek movie debuted, and much of the original set up was to be in downtown LV at Neonopolis which is at the bottom of Fremont Street. It would be an EXCELLENT addition to the area. Now, the bad news is…no construction has yet begun (last I heard). Rumor is it will replace the (failed) theater complex sometime in 2010, but then it was supposed to be done and opened when the ST movie opened earlier this year.
SO, while there is hope, there’s nothing yet materializing.
