Statisitcs to monitor effect of site

By MXC ·
Hi all,

We have recently launched an e-commerce venture on the internet and I am looking for information on what kind of statistics are important and more importantly how important changes in those statitics are.

E.G We have been up for 2 weeks with about 300 visitors but not one sale. Is this a bad sales to hit ratio indicating that something is wrong or is this to be expected? So its not just number of unique users etc but ways of monitoring whether you are being effective or not.

We are going to be doing an online survey too. Anyone got some best-practices type quesitionares for visitors?

Thanks
Mark

I would think the hits to sales ratio's would be different for every product being sold. For example the ratio of people who actually buy books might be higher than those who buy a T.V. online.
