stopping spam

A question asked of me that I didn’t know.
I work for a school district and the teachers and admin staff will be out for the summer. Would deleting those email accounts for the two months they are out stop spam? The theory is that from multiple bounce backs, the spammer would delete that account’s name. I realize that most spam FROM accounts that don’t exist.
