Store all pop3 mail accounts on the server

By technoooo ·
I?m the off-site consultant of a five user win2000 small biz server. They would like all pop3 mail accounts stored on the server, ex. address, sent, deleted, and any folders created in Outlook or Outlook Express. (Not on the individual boxes), this way, as I replace the machines, I wont lose the act. Info. In the up-grade process. Any ideas? Thanks

If you have POP accounts, the email is downloaded to the client off of the server. Some clients have a "leave copy of email on server for x days", but if you want to keep everything on the mail server, set up the clients as MAPI. That works if the clients are all connected locally.

I haven't tried this in awhile, so I'm not sure it works with XP. Outlook (not outlook express) stores all the email in two files a .pab and a .pst. You used to be able to locate those files anywhere, including on a mapped network dirve.
