i have two different looking 168pin-dimms. on all my super socket 7-boards they count up to 128mb. even on one pII/pIII-board(MS6163VA)-supports six memory banks using 3×168-pin unbuffered dimm.max memory size of 384mb(8mx8)or768mb(16mx4)
now i am setting up a new board, qdi-legend V.
here i have seen a very strange behavior:
dimm A alone counts up to 64mb, dimm b(smaller one) only to 32mb. it can be populated in any order, but must be set in order for optimum ma-time. now comes the sensation: both together count up to 196mb. i have pentium 233(66×3.5)
i had to make some changings in the bios(cmos-setup) until the machine started. referring to my other question of yesterday i still do not know what to set exactly. it is try and error.iknow there are a lot of explanations on the net but i need to know what are the specifications of the dimm.
