We are the most prestigious business institute (state owned) of Pakistan namely IBA, Karachi (Institute of Business Administration). Recently we are able to get an industry project, our computer science department (MIS & BCS program). Our team includes faculty members with dual degrees in Engineering/Computer Science and MBA, under the management of our deputy director (who is a Phd in CS, MBA and an Engineer).
The company is a local manufacturer of industrial goods interested in exports, reducing its costs and increasing the efficiency. This organization has 14 factories (1ook types of material), an employee welfare transport set up for its 25000 personnels, and a big hospital. This firm is interested in computerizing all its functional departments e.g Inventory Mgmt, Production Planning & Control/manufacturing, Budget, Finance & Accounts, Personnel Mgmtetc.
We thought it would be a good academic exercise to take this challenge.
