So suddenly on two comps running on the same network (Xp Pro and Vista 64) the browsers (both IE7 and Firefox)have some region issues. The language is still in English – I check under the preferences for both browsers and its still the same – but when you go do a google search it brings up items for sale in German. The widgets on the side offer items for sale or information about the item we searched in German. I tried to go to google mail by typing in http://gmail.google.com and I get an error message (on both browsers, on both computers) saying that “the url is not an appropriate url for GMail in Germany – please use a different one”
So again the language for the most part is in English, but it appears that the computer is based out of Germany. Now the only other issue is that the Vista computer is having weird conflicts with Panda Antivirus 2009. It has been working great for the past few months, but now all types of errors of a wide range pop up saying that Panda is interferring with whatever action is being taken and needs to be disabled or reinstalled. I did reinstall Panda and the virus warnings are going off and still causing issues.
so is the browser thing the result of a virus attack – and if so its passed to the other comp?
Thank you to anyone who responds – its greatly appreciated!!!
